Business Expansion Grants
Provided by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation.
What is Eligible?
- Capital costs associated with starting a farm operation, namely capital construction, leasehold improvements, storage facility costs and new or used equipment.
- Marketing costs are also eligible at up to 20% of other eligible project costs.
- Training costs incurred with third-parties will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
For new farms, Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) will consider all agricultural buildings, equipment, and storage facility costs as eligible for support. Neither land purchase costs nor working capital allowance are eligible.
Funding
NOHFC will fund 50% of eligible costs that are incremental to the existing operation. 30% of the funding is in the form of a conditional contribution with 70% as a repayable loan for a combined maximum of up to $1 million per project.
Additional Information
NOHFC will consider applications on a case-by-case basis where there is no other necessary service or business of this nature in the community or other extenuating circumstances.
